According to the National Autistic Society, only 16% of autistic adults are in full-time work. This employment gap is born from misunderstanding and apprehension by employers to consider individuals with autism for roles in their workplace.

Changing the Spectrum is a radio documentary by Sam Hodgson exploring the ongoing issue surrounding the autism employment gap in the UK, looking into the cultural and emotional impact that the job seeking process can have on individuals with autism. We will hear from the autistic unemployed, employers of autistic staff members, inclusive recruitment services and those who are advocating for change.
