CareTrade UK interested in being part of Changing the Spectrum

Over the past week I've been exchanging emails with Mark Finch, head of education and learning at CareTrade UK, a registered charity working to create career paths for unemployed young adults in a programme called "The Autism Project".

Mark has shown a real interest in the documentary and has given me permission to visit their facility in Elephant and Castle, London to get an insight into their work and to speak to some of the young jobseekers looking to enhance their employability skills.

CareTrade's website describes the "Autism Project" as: "A full time 2 year employment programme for young people on the autism spectrum who would like work but need more confidence, support, skills and experience."

I'll be looking to speak to Mark on the importance of CareTrade, seeking his perspective on how beneficial the work they do can be in developing the core working skills needed to succeed in an industry.

The charity also provides employment assistance programme for adults with autism, so i'll be looking to speak to the team members in this sector during in my visit also.

The project meetings are held every Tuesday and Thursday where students take time from working placements to continue their skills development in the CareTrade centre.

I believe this would be a really important interview to secure and will give a strong angle from an organisation pushing to get more of the autistic unemployed into workplaces across our capital city.

More to follow.
